A Note From Our President-Elect

denaDear Friends,

Our Biennial convention has come to a close and your new Executive Committee has been elected and will take office on January 1, 2016. For those of you that were unable to attend the convention, below is my acceptance speech, as well as pictures of your new Executive Committee and pictures taken at the event.

Thank you – the trust you have put into your new Executive Committee will not be taken lightly. We will work hard for you and our federation. Our goal is to build the federation membership, to provide you with the education and tools you need to be effective and prosperous. To get the word out, Republican Women mean business and we are a relevant force in the political process.

We have so much work to do! Our nation is at risk with the liberal policies of the current administration. We need everyone on deck to make sure that Florida remains a red state, we know if Florida votes Republican so will the nation and we can help make that happen!

We have many new members and clubs, making sure they have the tools needed to be successful and growing is important, but so is helping the more established clubs that need help re-energizing their membership.

The Board of Directors,  Presidents, Committee Chairs, Members at Large and each of you, will become more involved in our process. This is your organization, you have a voice, and we want to hear from you.

We are building a legislative program. We ask all the Presidents to appoint a legislative chairman. Our legislative committee will be contacting you to explain how your club can help as we find legislation that is important to us, as women and as Republicans and with your help we will have a voice in Tallahassee and Washington D.C.

We want to help educate the members, we will offer classes on parliamentary procedure, how to raise money and membership building. We will become more visible through increased public relations, social networking and advertising.

Historically Republican women have been described as hard working, loyal, passionate about politics and Boots on the Ground. Next year we will have the opportunity to be relevant again when we campaign for our Presidential candidate and turn our state deep red once again.

I know I speak for myself and your new Executive Committee when I say “thank you for your confidence in us, and we will do everything we can to earn every vote that you cast for us today”.
